DIC to buy-out Liverpool?

January 19, 2008 gfurlong Leave a comment

BBC reports that DIC are planning to buy out Liverpool for a cool £500 million. Well the current owners are running tight.. as they borrowed money to finance the take over of Liverpool and also to finance players. They are currently trying to get a loan approved for a cool £350. That’s a hell of alot of money… I could buy a new Beemer with that… er… no maybe 100 new Beemers!!

Whether Gillett and Hicks will give up their shares is another thing all together.

But I just came across this article, kinda worrying if it was true. Even if DIC gets hold of Liverpool, they might sack Benitez and all Mr Parry himself. Rumours??

Anyways, there’s a thread on BBC website itself discussing this debate whether DIC takeover would be beneficial for the club.

Who’s annoyed with Tom Hicks?

Looks like someone is annoyed with the recent statement Tom Hicks made with regards to Klinsmann.

Liverpool 5 – Luton 0

My first proper post!

Really surprised Benitez put out a damn strong team against Luton. I guess he really wanted to win this game.. or he wanted to win this game in order to save his job! With the recent admission by the co-owner Tom Hick… that he ‘courted’ the services of Jurgen Klinsmann’s leaves a sore taste in my mouth… no to mention Benitez’s. I’m sure Rafa is really pissed off with the whole issue, but he’d rather not comment on it.

32 shots at goal, compared to 2 (by Luton) was quite impressive indeed! If you didn’t watch the game, you would have surely thought that it was raining goals by the first half. NO!! Surprisingly Luton defended really well.. or the Liverpool players didn’t have any of their shooting booths on!! Babel was impressive on the left wing. I think Pennant did a good job on the right. Torres, well, he didn’t score.. but contributed to the all round play. It’s only towards the last final minute of the first half, Luton defended to high, Gerrard capitalized on it, passed to Torres and he to Babel… and Mr Babel couldn’t miss to hit the left corner.

Second half was better. Liverpool more relaxed. Nuff said. Gerrard scored 3 goals with Hyypia helping out.

I feel that the man-of-match was Babel.

Babel’s goal..
